Description/Notes:

same mixture as #17, less dev time.

still detaching, going to further tune the dev time.

Description/Notes:

made new mixture with 1-1 glue ratio out of old mix. (increasing glue concentration from #16) added blue pigment for more contrast.

still detaching, going to further tune the dev time.

still having issues on detached_emulsion even in the best case

Takeaways

maybe its just a part of the elmers glue chiba process. elmers glue just isnt strong enough during development.

variables left to tweak:

  • paper type
  • glue type
  • continue separate layers approach tried in tests # 22-24
    • maybe try:
      • sizing
      • emuls
      • FAO
      • emuls
      • pigment
    • What were hoping for here is that by selectively putting the FAO next to the substrate, we have a better chance of the polymerization attaching to the substrate.
      • maybe we do both:
        • emulsion has FAO
        • substrate has layer of FAO
      • but it doesnt seem like FAO concentration was an issue. …

I think what is key is having a thin enough emulsion that it doesnt tend to flake away, while still having a thick enough emulsion to separate from the substrate.
